EG 10: 07 Nights/ 08 Days Tour of Egypt’s River of Destiny
Day 1: Cairo
Our representative will receive you at Cairo International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2: Cairo – Pyramids Tour
You will begin the day by visiting Memphis & Sakarra. Your private Egyptologist tour guide and representative will pick you up and start your tour. You will drive 22-miles south of Cairo where some of the oldest pyramids and a complex burial site for more than twenty pharaohs are found. Next, you will visit the newly opened Pyramid of Dahshour.
After lunch, a short drive brings you to Giza. Here you marvel at the Pyramids, including Cheops, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Coming face-to-face with the Sphinx, who has been staring into the desert for five-thousand years, is an awesome experience.
Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3: Cairo – Nile Cruise – Aswan
After breakfast, fly 556 miles/926 km up the Nile Valley. Then check into your lovely Nile Cruise and enjoy our lunch on board.
Visit the turn-of-the-century Old Dam, to this day the widest dam in the world, and the gigantic Aswan High Dam completed in 1970.
Continue and stop at the ancient Quarries to see the famous, Unfinished Obelisk.
In the afternoon, a special treat: board a felucca and take a round through the blue waters of the river. See the ancient “nilometer” on Elephantine Island, and Botanical Island, and the splendid Aga Khan Mausoleum on the left bank.
Dinner & Overnight on-board the Cruise.
Day 4: Kom Ombo – Edfu
Transfer to your flight to Abu Simbel. Visit the twin temples of Ramses II and his queen Nefertari with their facades of colossal statues.
Before lunch start your leisurely cruise down Egypt’s river of destiny. Dock at Kom Ombo for a short walk to its bluff-top temple dedicated to the crocodile and falcon gods. Return to our Cruise for sailing towards Edfu. Dock late evening.
Dinner & Overnight on-board the Cruise.
Day 5: Edfu – Luxor
Early breakfast, board a horse-drawn carriage for the drive through Edfu to the Temple of Houres
After our tour in Edfu, continue our sunset sailing, see white-clad farmers with their donkeys, camels, and water buffaloes work lush green fields; we’ll recommended you take the upper deck for these sights.
Tonight you across the Esna lock, towards Luxor, (optional tour) to sound and light show at Karnak. Dinner & Overnight on-board the Cruise.
Day 6: Luxor – Cairo
After breakfast, focus a grand finale to your sightseeing in the Nile Valley. See the stunning monuments of Karnak Temple, the greatest city of ancient Egypt. To walk among the pillars of the colossal Temple of Amoun Ra, Continue your tour to visit the Luxor Temple.
Afternoon, flight from Luxor back to Cairo, 422 miles/679 km. Arrival Cairo, then you will be met by our Cairo representative, transfer to hotel. Overnight Cairo.
Day 7: Cairo
You will begin today by visiting the Egyptian Museum & Old Cairo, Your private Egyptologist tour guide and representative will pick you up and start your tour. Then visit Old Cairo and the Old Coptic Church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Continue to the Mohamad Ali Mosque and the streets of Khan el Khalili Bazaar. Overnight Cairo.
Day 8: Depart Home
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
