RU 10: 16 Nights/17 Days Wildlife and Gorilla Voyage to Kenya, Uganda & Rwanda
Day 1: Nairobi
Our representative will receive you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer you to Holiday Inn Hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Nairobi – Aberdares
Safari briefing and then depart for Nyeri Town. You will have lunch at Outspan Hotel and later in the afternoon transfer to Treetops Lodge in Aberdares National Park.

Day 3: Aberdares – Mt Kenya
Transfer to Outspan Hotel and connect with your driver/guide to Serena Mountain Lodge. The lodge is set inside the Mount Kenya National Park, 193km northeast of Nairobi. We drive north, crossing the equator, before reaching the market town of Nanyuki. Founded in 1907 by English settlers, Nanyuki is home to the main base of Kenya’s Air Force. It’s popular amongst tourists because of it’s proximity to impressive Mount Kenya, Kenya’s highest peak at 5199 m.

Day 4: Mt Kenya – Samburu
Leaving this old frontier town, we head north-west to the Samburu National Reserve. We’ll encounter the Masai’s distant relatives, the semi-nomadic proud Samburu, tending their cattle along the way. The Samburu National Reserve is a relatively small reserve at just 104 km. It is a remote, hence unspoilt, reserve and attracts a wide range of animals because of the Ewaso Ng’iro River (brown water) that runs through it.

Day 5: Mt Kenya – Samburu
The Samburu National Reserve is made up of a mixture of scrub, desert and open Savannah plains interspersed with small rugged hills. It is home to most of the Big 5 (except the rhino, which has been decimated by poachers). What makes this reserve unique is its populations of Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe and Somali Ostrich and we’ll spend the day searching for these unique animals.

Day 6: Samburu – Lake Nakuru
Depart Samburu National Reserve, head west towards the Great Rift Valley and the 4th largest town in Kenya and the capital of the Rift Valley Province, Nakuru. Lake Nakuru National Park is famous due to flamingos and rhinos.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve. You arrive at Mora Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives.

Day 8-9: Masai Mara
Spend the whole day in the Masai Mara plains doing game drives and on the look out for herds of wildebeests crossing the crocodile-infested Mara River. Visit Masai cultural village one evening to learn their culture and dances (you’ll directly pay USD30 per person to the village).

Day 10: Masai Mara – Nairobi
Depart for Masai Mara after breakfast and drive to Nairobi. Lunch on your own. Dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi.

Day 11: Nairobi – Kampala
Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch morning Kenya Airways flight to Entebbe, Uganda. You will be met by our Ugandan representative who will transfer your Kampala Hotel. If your flight arrives in the morning, you will embark on the city tour and visit prominent places and some of Kampala’s historical sites with the help of our driver/guide. This can be done in places like; Kasubi Tombs, Wamala tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, Museums and craft shops around town like on Bombo road name it.

Day 12: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
From Kampala, you will drive towards the west, have a stop over at the equator for photographs, and then proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening for relaxation.

Day 13: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
There is an early morning entry in to the forest. The rain forest offers spectacular, dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access for tourists. Given the fact that gorilla tracking is unpredictable, it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will actually hike. The escapade of tracking the gorillas in the superb ecosystem of the park will be passionate for the adventurers. It may take 2hrs up to 8 hours or more and you should be prepared to a walk long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. “The excitement of seeing the gorillas makes it all worthwhile!" Briefing will be given on how to behave and handle these gentle giants.

Day 14: Bwindi – Rwanda
After breakfast fast, drive to Kisoro and cross the border to Ruhengeri in Rwanda.

Day 15: Gorilla Tracking in Pac De Volcanoes
Early morning departure for the mountain gorilla tracking. After the briefing from the authorities of the park, set off for the trekking into the rain tropical forest searching for the habituated gorilla family. You remain close to the beautiful primates for over one hour, for observation and photography. Make sure you carry with you packed lunch and water. After a Lunch break, we depart for Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Lake Bunyonyi
In the morning, have a sumptuous breakfast at leisure and cherish some relaxing moments on the shores of this peaceful lake. Tourists will choose among the various tour activities. They can choose to go birding, cycling, and sun bathing, swimming or even canoeing.

Day 17: Lake Bunyonyi – Kampala
After a hearty breakfast, head to Kampala having lunch en route. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight.
