KT 16: 13 Nights/ 14 Days Vintage Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar Holiday

Whisk your loved one to Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar for your honeymoon or family holiday. The wildlife safari takes you to Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara, unwinding with a Zanzibar holiday. It’s suitable for your honeymoon safari or for a family holiday, including parents travelling with children.
Day 1: Nairobi
Our Kenyan driver/guide will receive you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer you in our safari van to Sankara Hotel where accommodation will be based on bed and breakfast only.

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru National Park through the Great Rift Valley. Make a brief stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint to allow you view the escarpment below and take photos with Mt Longonot in the background. Arrive at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives in Lake Nakuru National Park, which is usually dotted with pink flamingoes lining its shores. After checking in and having lunch at the lodge, you set off to Lake Nakuru for extensive game drives where you can expect to see leopards, lions, giraffes, a million or so of pink flamingoes as well as black or white Rhinos.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
After breakfast, depart for Maasai Mara through the floor of the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Mara Serena Safari Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives. You will spend three nights in Mara, Africa’s most popular game reserve due to the annual migration of thousands of wildebeests from Northern Serengeti in Tanzania.

Day 4-5: Masai Mara
Spend the whole day in the Masai Mara plains doing game drives and also on the look out for herds of wildebeests crossing the crocodile-infested Mara River. Options: Depart for full day carrying packed lunch or go for morning and afternoon game drives. Optional evening visit to a Masai Manyatta Village to learn the dance and culture of the Masai tribe. (You’ll pay USD35 per person per visit directly to the village)

Day 6: Masai Mara – Serengeti
After breakfast, check out with packed lunch and depart for Serengeti via Isabenia border. After being helped with immigration formalities, you’ll be handed over to our Tanzania driver/guide and proceed to Serengeti, arriving late in the evening. Game drives en route the lodge.

Day 7: Serengeti
Full day in Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. Serengeti National Park, undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world is a large national park in Serengeti area, Tanzania. It is most famous due to annual migration of over one million white bearded wildebeest and 200,000 zebra to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve in search of pasture.

Day 8: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge archaeological site. Collect lunch boxes from Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge and then descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for game drives. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard. Return to the lodge in the evening for overnight.

Day 9: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions and bird life. Upon arrival at Lake Manyara, you’ll have lunch at Kirurumu Tented Lodge and then set off for game drives. Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large waterbirds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks. Large buffalo, wildebeest and zebra herds congregate on these grassy plains, as do giraffes – some so dark in coloration that they appear to be black from a distance.

Day 10: Arusha – JRO – Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer you to Arusha for lunch. Later transfer to Arusha Airport/Kilimanjaro Airport to catch your flight to Zanzibar Airport. A representative from Zanzibar Serena Inn will receive you and transfer to their hotel in Stone Town. Accommodation based on half board (breakfast and dinner).

Day 11-13: Zanzibar
You can book beach activities or a Stone Town tour through your hotel at your own cost.
