Day at leisure in Johannesburg. We are met by our guide at the reception of the hotel at +-18h00. Ridgeway Hotel or similar. (Breakfast only).
We travel to this famous wildlife sanctuary, the oldest in Africa, which has 130 species of mammals, 114 species of reptiles, 468 species of birds and 300 varieties of trees. With its rocky outcrops and mountainous heights, this 6.536ha park is home to about 200 unique orange muzzled Cape Mountain Zebra, along with a variety of antelope such as eland, blessbok, springbok etc. The largest predator here is the elusive caracal. Chalet/ rest camp. (Breakfast and dinner).
Travelling through quaint villages along the garden route we visit an Ostrich Farm with an authentic “Feather Palace" (Homestead built during the boom days before 1914) and explore the Cango Caves, which are amongst the most spectacular caves in the world consisting of a fantastic collection of stalactites and stalagmites. The mother city lies in a most spectacular setting between Table Mountain and Table Bay. We take a cable car up Table Mountain, one of the most well known landmarks in the world (weather permitting).
